Botanical dyed Handwoven Green and Salmon - Alpaca & Wool

Botanical dyed Handwoven Green and Salmon - Alpaca & Wool

A$100.00

This beautiful soft handwoven scarf features a combination of natural and botanical dyed commercial and handspun yarns. The plants used as dyes in this piece were madder, avocado, beetroot, nectarine, onion, artichoke and kangaroo paw . It took 10 hours to weave with a mix of wool and alpaca and finished with a neat twisted fringe.

The scarf measures 20cm wide, 152cm long and weighs approximately 139 grams.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

I recommend hand washing in cool water with pH neutral wool wash. Do not soak for more than 15 minutes and lay flat over a clothes rack to dry. Never throw in the washing machine or dryer, it will shrink.

When not in use, store folded in a dark draw to prolong the vibrancy of the botanical colour. I would also recommend storing it alongside a moth deterrent such as cedar wood blocks or herb sachet since natural fibres are tasty to a few naughty pests.
